Texas, Louisiana Facing Potential Hurricane Warnings As Francine Speeds Towards Gulf Coast

On September 9, 2024, radar signatures confirmed that Tropical Storm Francine is developing the capability to cascade into a powerful hurricane before it makes landfall on the coast on Wednesday. A​ hurricane warning has been issued from Sabine Pass to Morgan City, Louisiana. A storm surge warning has been issued from High Island, Texas, east of Galveston Bay, to the Mouth of the Mississippi River, including Vermilion Bay. This means life-threatening inundation is possible in these areas within 36 hours. 

This system will bring heavy rain all across the South United States and as far north as the mid-Mississippi and Ohio valleys into the late week. It is very important for anybody facing an immediate threat from this storm to take precautions for their own safety.
