Father Of Georgia Shooter Suspect Arrested, Facing Second-Degree Murder Charges

On September 5, 2024, authorities in Georgia arrested the father of 14-year-old Colt Grey, the Apalachee High School mass shooting suspect. Colin Gray, aged 54, is facing four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder, and eight counts of cruelty to children. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s announcement comes just hours after it was revealed that Colin Gray purchased the weapon for his son as a holiday gift while being under active investigation by the FBI. These charges are punishable by 10-30 years in prison.

The suspect of the horrific shooting, Colt Grey, is being tried as an adult and faces a lengthy judicial process while investigators process all of the evidence. Grey allegedly made online threats prior to the shooting and was already on an FBI watchlist. This is another tragic day in American history.
